SDCFA FACILITATES HOSTING OF THE IST AFRICA CONFERENCE 2023
SDCfA facilitated the hosting of the IST Africa Conference, from 31 May to 2 June 2023 at the CSIR International Convention Centre (CSIR ICC), in Pretoria, South Africa.
IST-Africa is a world-class international forum to showcase existing technology-enabled research, innovation and ICT4D activities and capacity in Africa, Europe and other parts of the world.
The event included a SDCfA Diplomatic Networking Cocktail as well as SDCfA sponsorship for 35 students and academics to attend the conference.
The goals of the IST-Africa Conference Series are to:
- Support development of the information society and knowledge economy in Africa.
- Promote international research innovation, and policy cooperation and coordination.
- Showcase African research and innovation capacity.
- Stimulate exploitation of research results by the public and private sectors
